neuter of a (presumed) adjective from a derivative of αφιστημι, - aphistemi G 868; properly, something separative, i.e. (specially) divorce:--(writing of) divorcement.
αποστασιον Matt 5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
