from παρα, - para G 3844 and the middle voice of λεγω, - lego G 3004 (in its original sense); (specially), to lay one's course near, i.e. sail past:--pass, sail by.
παραλεγομενοι Acts 27:8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
παρελεγοντο Acts 27:13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
