from a derivative of λαος, - laos G 2992 and εργον, - ergon G 2041; a public servant, i.e. a functionary in the Temple or Gospel, or (genitive case) a worshipper (of God) or benefactor (of man):--minister(-ed).



λειτουργοι Rom 13:6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
λειτουργον Rom 15:16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
