from ιδιος, - idios G 2398; a private person, i.e. (by implication) an ignoramus (compare "idiot"):--ignorant, rude, unlearned.
ιδιωται Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. 1 Cor 14:23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
