2272 GREEK ησυχιος, HESUCHIOS hay-soo'-khee-os a prolonged form of a compound probably of a derivative of the base of εδραιος, - hedraios G 1476 and perhaps εχω, - echo G 2192; properly, keeping one's seat (sedentary), i.e. (by implication) still (undisturbed, undisturbing):--peaceable, quiet. ησυχιον 1 Ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. ησυχιου 1 Pe 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
