from εθνος, - ethnos G 1484; national ("ethnic"), i.e. (specially) a Gentile:--heathen (man).
εθνικοι Matt 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
εθνικος Matt 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
